CREEDS RURITAN CLUB - SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

Creeds Ruritan Club, Blackwater Creeds Foundation, and Her Bess Farms are proud to offer the following scholarship opportunities for students.
(1) Creeds Ruritan Endowment Fund
(2) Creeds Ruritan Build your Dollars
(3) Blackwater Creeds Foundation High School Student
(4) Blackwater Creeds Foundation College Student
(5) Her Bess Farms (Sponsored by Mr. Robin Davenport


Application deadline is May 15, 2026

The primary criteria for selecting scholarship recipients are;
   A. Scholastic Excellence – Sustained superior academic achievement, academic honors and academic awards.
   B. Leadership – Demonstrated through involvement in school and youth organizations, athletics and community involvement. The quantity and quality of the involvement (i.e., nature of responsibilities, offices held, Creeds Ruritan Involvement etc.} will be considered.
   C. Citizenship - Involvement in community, citywide or regional activities that promote charitable or other civic causes. Service with Creeds Ruritan Club and other charitable organizations are encouraged.

In addition, the following criteria will be considered.
   D. Financial need
   E. Educational Aspirations - does the applicant have a career goal that is highly needed in the community or focus on agriculture or other rural needs {e.g., veterinarian, family physician, scientist), etc.
   F. Intangibles - Did the applicant overcome any disabilities to achieve his or her level of scholarship, leadership or citizenship.
   G. Other areas - Does the applicant possess unusual talents, did the applicant work during the school year, does the applicant write well or is the applicant more well-rounded than the others, etc.
   H. All applications MUST be completely filled out.

Scholarship value: $1,500.00 each
The applications may be submitted online November 1st and closes March 1st.
